The Palatinate Wine Queen – Anna Hochdoerffer
Not only is she one of my oldest and dearest friends, she also recently got voted as the Palatinate Wine Queen ( Pfaelzische Weinkoenigin). Rhineland-Palatinate is one of the 16 federal states in Germany and of course the whole state of Rhineland – Palatinate is very proud of this young lovely lady.
Who ever asks Anna about books will probably learn a lot of new things . For example, about her favorite authors Max Frisch, Ingeborg Bachmann and Paulo Coelho. Because literature is, in addition to the wine, one of her passions. This has led her to start studying in Karlsruhe and a semester abroad in Canada. Here, the 23-year-old took on a backpacking trip and a trip through the desert to the Grand Canyon – her craziest adventure yet. And not to forget, met up with me in San Francisco, which I was very happy about:)
Probably this year, she will finish her studies with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Anna values spending time outdoors as distraction from the books, while walking through the snowy woods and vineyards, or climbing places.
Anna grew up with Palatinate wine, vineyards surround the representative parental estate, also her two brothers have learned the wine profession. I remember hanging out with her when I was about 14 in their Winery and the estate is beyond beautiful! Going over to her place was always one of the most exciting places to go to:)
Anna is one of the nicest people who I have ever known and I am very proud of her and happy for her that she is in such a coveted position, gets to meet all the great people and gets to make all those great experiences. She even got a mini cooper, which she can use while being in the position of the wine queen. Good job Anna! Keep up the great work:)
