Note: Personally, I didn’t use the pineapple and used caramel syrup instead of the maple syrup and it turned out great! I also made a little bit too much so I turned parts of it into ice cubes which are going to be an amazing quick snack or sweet tooth helper:)

Chaud’s Juice Therapy has amazing recipes all the time so you guys should definitely go check her out, she also has just started to do youtube video’s which are great as well!

Can somebody say addicting?? OMG, this Mint Mojito Iced Coffee took me by surprise. I have to admit, I was more than skeptical about the combination of mint and coffee and refused to get it for a while from Philz Coffee here in the Bay, but then I had a “try-something-new” sort of day and went for it…It is amazing! And lovely, now I want it all the time, but because it does get sort of expensive (a small one is 4$) I tried making it myself and thank god it came out perfectly! If you are still searching for the perfect summer coffee drink, give this a shot! This coffee has lots of fresh mint and a creamy consistency to it.

Here is what you need to get started. I took me several tries and variations, but I think this turns out the closest to the Philz version:
- Fresh Organic Mint
- 1/3 cup Cold Espresso or coffee (which ever you prefer)
- 1/4 Natural Bliss Creamer in Sweet Cream flavor

Directions:
1) Add approximately 8-10 mint leaves into the bottom of your cup. Use a muddler to crush the mint.
2) Add 1/3 cup espresso or coffee
3) Add 1/3 cup water and 1/4 cup natural bliss creamer.
4) Enjoy with ice cubes and some great summer feelings!

This weekend, “Iron Man 3” kicked off the summer movie season with a bang. The film is already well on its way to making boatloads of dough and pleasing legions of diehard fans. We all know that “Iron Man 3″ will be one of the biggest hits of the summer, but here are five facts about the film that you may not know, but definitely should.

Zero to Hero

1. Robert Downey Jr. could very well be the biggest movie star in the world right now, but he certainly wasn’t when Marvel was first casting Tony Stark for “Iron Man” (2008). In fact, according to Gwyneth Paltrow, Marvel didn’t want him to play the part at all. “When we started the first film, Robert was in such a different place. He was very humble. Marvel did not want him. Jon Favreau had to fight tooth and nail to get him the job. He was broke,” Paltrow told us during the press junket. You can see more from Paltrow (and other cast members) in our Insider Access video above.

RDJ & wife Susan Downey rolling into the Hollywood ‘Iron Man 3′ premiere. Photo by Getty.

Good Deal

2. RDJ probably doesn’t worry much about money these days. After the surprising success of the first “Iron Man,” Downey reportedly renegotiated his deal to earn between 5 percent and 7 percent of the profits for all his future Marvel endeavors. That deal supposedly netted him upward of $50 million for reprising the role in “Marvel’s The Avengers” (2012). According to Deadline, “Iron Man 3″ is on pace to make some $650 million worldwide by the end of this weekend. Considering the reported production budget is in the $200 million ballpark, RDJ stands to cash another substantial paycheck. Who knows, if he keeps playing Iron Man, maybe someday he’ll be as wealthy as Tony Stark.

Future’s So Bright

3. Everything might have worked out differently for RDJ if more people had just purchased his pop album “The Futurist” when it debuted back in 2004. Perhaps he would have been too busy doing stadium tours and wouldn’t have had time to be Iron Man? “The Futurist,” which also features RDJ on piano and serving as album cover designer, did sell 16,000 copies in its first week and debuted at No. 121 on the Billboard album chart. Alas, it wasn’t enough to get the RDJ show on the road. Check out the YouTube video above of Downey singing “Man Like Me,” the first song from the album.

Shane Black & Jon Favreau. Photo by Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images.

The Iron Spirit

4. After helming the first two “Iron Man” movies, Jon Favreau has relinquished his directorial duties for the third one, though he remains a big part of the film as a producer and star (Happy Hogan). Picking up the slack is writer/director Shane Black, whose last directing gig was in 2005′s “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” also starring RDJ. It’s not too much of a spoiler to reveal that “Iron Man 3″ takes place during the Christmas season, and subsequently contains requisite Christmas cheer. While that might seem strange for a summer movie, since we’re dealing with Shane Black, it’s not so extraordinary. This is the sixth time that Christmas has played a part in one of Black’s scripts: “Lethal Weapon” (1987), “The Last Boy Scout” (1991), “Last Action Hero” (1993), “The Long Kiss Goodnight” (1996), and “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” all contain yuletide nods. “It unifies everyone in the world — puts them on the same playing field. So that you can cut all over the place and still be on the same world,” Black said when we asked about his Christmas fetish during a recent roundtable interview. “Also there’s a universal sense of Christmas, a potential for possibilities.”

No Method to the Madness

5. Though Daniel Day-Lewis might make you think differently, an actor doesn’t necessarily have to take his work home with him to nail a role. Take Sir Ben Kingsley, for example, who plays the nefarious and mysterious international terrorist known as the Mandarin. Kingsley may have won an Oscar for playing Indian civil rights leader Mohandas Gandhi in the 1982 biopic “Gandhi,” but he can’t tell you how Gandhi would have thought about the Mandarin. “I haven’t the faintest idea,” Kingsley told us at the “Iron Man 3″ press junket. “If I answered that, it would imply that I could think as my characters; I don’t. I just pretend between action and cut to bring something to the screen that I hope an audience will love watching. There’s no transformation at all. I’m not that kind of a method actor.” You can see the rest of our interview with Sir Ben (and the other cast members) in the video above.

On nice days, San Francisco is rife with gorgeous areas in which to enjoy our very brief spells of sun. Here now are picks for the best places for taking advantage of the outdoors.

Dolores Park (photo credit: potential past)

DOLORES PARK
What can we say about the phenomenon that is Dolores Park that hasn’t already been said? Did you know that as recently as 2005 it was full of needles and totally scary at night and no one hung out there? And then somehow, with the blossoming of food culture and youth culture and coffee culture and whatever else in the Mission came the colonizing of this open space on any and every sunny day. But it’s not entirely monopolized by the plaid-and-PBR set. Families go, dog people go. There are sometimes barbecues and quinceañeras. And obviously the gays claimed the best real estate, on the highest ledge with the best views. We dread the disruption to come as the park gets renovated and retooled later this year. But we hope for the best that this place will always be the fair-weather shitshow of patchy grass and pot truffles that we know and love.
18th & Dolores (neighborhood: Castro & Mission)

Alamo Square (photo credit: Sabine Fischer)

ALAMO SQUARE
As Divis becomes the new Valencia, it only stands to reason that the neighborhood needs its own Dolores, and on certain sunny days that role is being filled by dog-friendly Alamo Square. The desirable open space, with that dramatic cityscape behind the Full House houses on Postcard Row, is pretty small, and can be quite windswept given the geography — directly inland from Golden Gate Park and in the path of the first fog off the ocean. But given the right conditions and the right amount of wine, a party can be had here on a Sunday that will make everyone say, ‘Who needs Dolores?’ Until summer comes, and then it’s never warm in Alamo Square, like ever.
Steiner & Hayes (neighborhood: Western Addition)

Baker Beach (photo credit: Erik Wilson)

BAKER BEACH & MARSHALL’S BEACH
Let’s say there are ten days in the year where it’s legitimately acceptable beach weather. That’s being generous. And then there are maybe twenty more days when it’s questionable, but for at least two hours between approximately 2 and 4 p.m. you can probably get away with lying close to the sand in a swimsuit and staying warm in the sun. So that means that one of the city’s sluttiest and nakedest places is really only good for anything for the equivalent of one month out of the year. We’ve seen straight couples canoodling here in their birthday suits while gay men watched. We’ve seen many an elderly penis here, bouncing against the backdrop of the Pacific. And how can you go wrong with the Golden Gate Bridge right there, making all your Instagram friends elsewhere in the country jealous. (Sidenote: This northern end of the beach was the original site of the Burning Man festival from 1986 to 1990). As an added bonus, if you know the route, there is an even gayer, dirtier beach just beyond the rocks at the north end, closer to the bridge, accessible via the cliff above and the parking lot next to the old Presidio military bunker up there. The official word from the Parks Service is that Marshall’s provides a “quiet and contemplative” experience, but it’s actually quite pervy. Don’t go there unless you’re gay, and/or prepared for that.
Crissy Field (photo credit: Bob Horowitz)

CRISSY FIELD
With grassy open space, running and biking paths, room for your canine companions, a real beach and even a surf spot, Crissy Field has everything your SoCal friends think they can only find in Santa Monica — except it’s all within sight of the Golden Gate Bridge. Don’t let the overrun bro scene at Fort Mason distract you: keep carrying your boozy picnic west past the Marina Green and the yacht clubs until you cross the footbridge and can set yourself up on the beach like a professional.
Corona Heights Park (photo credit: Gerard Livernois)

CORONA HEIGHTS PARK
Twin Peaks gets all the tour buses and Buena Vista Park gets all the junkies, but the jagged peak at Corona Heights Park makes for a perfectly secluded spot to perch with a hot beverage and cuddly companion. It takes a little climbing to get to, but early risers can do stair runs without fear of waking park sleepers, evening visitors can watch the sunset over the Sunset and midday visitors get a scenic view while Fido chases down the tennis ball.
Telegraph Hill (photo credit: Jason Rodman)

TELEGRAPH HILL
Despite the constant stream of tourists huffing up the stairs from North Beach, Telegraph Hill still has the only lookout in town where you can take in views of a Diego Rivera mural, Lombard Street, Al Capone’s former home, an Eichler skyscraper, and two famous bridges. Work up a thirst spotting the wild parrots on the Filbert Steps and descend the opposite side to reward yourself with a drink on Grant Street.
Public privately-owned space at 1 Kearney (photo credit: Brock Keeling)

PRIVATE PUBLICLY OWNED SPACES
A slew of private publicly-owned spaces are just waiting for you to stop by for a spell. Our favorite? The lovely rooftop terrace atop 1 Kearny. The bathrooms are spotless and, if you can manage not getting caught, it’s a choice place for smoking a joint on your lunch hour. Other noteworthy spots include the Skygarden at the Federal Building and the 4 Terraces at the Intercontinental Hotel.

Financial District (photo credit: Bhautik Joshi)

WALKING AROUND DOWNTOWN/FiDI ON THE WEEKENDS
For those of you who, say, work from home or aren’t saddled with having to traverse to an office in downtown San Francisco, we recommend walking around the city’s Financial District during sunny days. It’s quiet and a great way to catch only a little bit of sun (perfect for redheads!) while taking in the massive structures looming overhead.

Ariel view of Golden Gate Park. (photo credit: Wikipedia)

For insiders of San Francisco, the area around the Randell Museum, just couple blogs away from the busy life on Haight and Ashbury, is worth a trip as well, surrounded by beautiful houses and an amazing view over the city.

If you just want to take a nice family stroll with small, nice restaurants, check out the Noe Valley neighborhood with lots of charm and many young families.

GOLDEN GATE PARK
Above Dolores Park, Alamo Square and lesser parks stands the almighty Golden Gate Park, the birthplace of the Summer of Love. Sure, it’s got its faults (too foggy!) and some sketchy characters, but it’s the park of San Francisco, period. It’s got it all: Kezar Stadium, Conservatory of Flowers, Music Concourse, Japanese Tea Garden, the windmills, and some of the finest patches of grass on which to trip your balls off.

I love this campaign! I saw it being shared on Facebook a lot lately and watched it and it was so amazing and sadly so true that I just can’t help but share it.

Do women see themselves less accurately than strangers do? A new Dove campaign says yes — and offers proof, in the form of forensic sketches.

Dove recruited seven women of different ages and backgrounds and had FBI-trained forensic artist Gil Zamora create composite sketches of them based on descriptions of their own facial features. In the above video, produced for the campaign, you can hear the women use phrases like “my mom told me I had a big jaw,” “I kind of have a fat, rounder face,” “I’d say I have a pretty big forehead.”

“We really weren’t sure what was going on,” Kela Cabrales, a 40-year-old technology teacher and digital artist who appears in the video, told HuffPost Women. “They asked me to describe myself and use neutral terms and ‘just the facts’ sort of descriptions.”

Earlier in the day, the women had been asked to spend time with strangers, though neither party was told why. These strangers were later brought one by one into a room with Zamora and asked to describe the women who had been sketched earlier. The two resulting drawings of each woman were then hung side-by-side — and the contrast is pretty stark. The tagline of the campaign is: “You are more beautiful than you think.”

1. Potassium benzoate: When you crave something sweet, bubbly, and perhaps caffeinated but don’t want the calories, it can be tempting to crack open a diet soda-but resist that urge. “Sodium and potassium benzoate are added to some diet soft drinks and fruit drinks,” Leslie Bonci, R.D., says. “They can form benzene, which is a carcinogen when combined with vitamin C, the ascorbic acid in juice or soda.”

In addition, research shows that there may be a link between diet cola consumption and weight gain, as well as cancer and diabetes, so if you’re a diet soda junkie, try to cut back.

If you don’t drink soda, you’re not safe, though: Potassium benzoate often shows up in seemingly innocuous foods such as apple cider, low-fat salad dressings, syrups, jams, olives, and pickles, so read labels.

2. Corn: Don’t panic-you can enjoy your corn on the cob if it’s non-GMO; we’re talking about modified cornstarch, dextrose, maltodextrin, and corn oil here. All are high in omega-6 fatty acids, which can promote inflammation, cancer, and heart disease. While your body needs both omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids to perform at its full potential, most experts recommend an omega-6 to omega-3 ratio of 1:1-currently most Americans consume about 15 times more omega-6 acids than omega-3s, according to Valerie Berkowitz, R.D., director of nutrition at the Center for Balanced Health and author of The Stubborn Fat Fix.

Unfortunately corn products and other foods high in omega-6s are hard to avoid. “Because they’re cheap, they’re in almost every product you buy, and therefore you eat more of them,” Berkowitz says. However you can cut back by gradually phasing out foods such as margarine, vegetable oil, and soy, and, while you’re at it, boost your omega-3 intake by adding salmon, grass-fed beef, halibut, chia seeds, and walnuts to your diet.

3. Soy: Although it’s often lauded as a healthy, cholesterol-free, cheap, low-fat protein alternative to meat, not all soy is healthy for you, Berkowitz says. “Soy protein, soy isolate, and soy oil are present in about 60 percent of the foods on the market and have been shown to impair fertility and affect estrogen in women, lower sex drive, and trigger puberty early in children,” she says. “Soy can also add to the imbalance between omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids.”

The main problem is that 92 percent of soy products in the U.S. are genetically modified, Berkowitz adds. “If you really can’t avoid it or are considering going vegetarian or vegan, try to stick with organic soy and don’t eat more than three servings a week.” She recommends beans, nuts, or sprouted grains such as quinoa or millet as good vegan protein sources, as well as cage-free eggs for vegetarians.

4. BHA: Any processed food that has a long shelf life is often filled with butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), says dietitian Julie Upton. “This is added to foods to prevent fats from spoiling.”

Although it has GRAS (generally recognized as safe) status by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), it’s been shown to cause cancer in animals, raising concerns among the healthy living community that the additive could be carcinogenic to humans as well. Upton recommends minimizing the amount of oil-containing processed foods you eat because they’re bound to include BHA.

5. Fractionated palm kernel oil: Fractionating oil is a process most often used on palm and palm kernel oil that involves heating the oil, then cooling it quickly so that it breaks up into fractions (hence the name). The fractioned oil is then passed through a filtration process, during which it’s separated into liquid palm olein and solid palm stearin components. Don’t worry if you’re confused (we are too!). The key thing is that the filtration process separates out most of the liquid part of the oil, leaving a high concentration of solid fat behind.

Fractionated oil is great in preventing the chocolate coating on candy and protein bars from melting, but unfortunately it’s not so kind to your waistline or health: “Palm kernel oil is about 80 percent saturated fat and leads to increased LDL (bad) cholesterol,” says Christine Gerbstadt, M.D., R.D., a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. So avoid both fractionated and regular palm kernel oil.

Palm fruit oil, however, has less saturated fat and some vitamin E (a player in maintaining a healthy immune system and metabolism), so it’s better for you, but still not as healthy extra-virgin olive, canola, avocado, or almond oils, all of which are made up of a majority of mono- or polyunsaturated fats and have medium or high smoke points, making them safe to cook with.

6. MSG: Made famous by the “Chinese restaurant syndrome,” MSG is a flavor enhancer commonly added to Chinese foods and products, as well as canned vegetables and soups and some meats. It’s officially recognized as a food that’s safe to eat in small quantities, but because a proportion of the population experiences an adverse reaction, including migraines and increased appetite, it remains controversial within the healthy living community. For this reason, it’s required to be on the label whenever it’s added to a food, and it’s not allowed to be added to infant formula or foods for toddlers.

7. Artificial flavorings: Artificial flavorings offer absolutely no nutritional value and are the markers of processed food, says registered dietitian and author Dawn Jackson Blatner. They show up in almost everything today, including bread, cereals, flavored yogurt, soups mixes, and cocktail mixers, so they can be hard to avoid.

Your best bet is to go for the real thing whenever possible. “For example, if you want to have whipped cream, have a little bit of real whipped cream, not whipped topping, which is also full of hydrogenated oils and high fructose corn syrup, or instead of spray butter, cook with a little bit of real butter or olive oil,” Jackson Blatner says.

8. Sodium nitrites and nitrates: “Nitrites are added to meats such as hot dogs, bacon, and deli meats as a preservative, but they may form nitrosamines when in the body, which may promote cancer growth,” Dr. Gerbstadt says. In fact, a 2009 study found that kids who ate cured meats or fish more than once a week had a 74 percent greater risk of leukemia than children who rarely ate those foods.

Try to limit your consumption of cured meats to no more than three per week and avoid hot dogs entirely if you can: A 2011 study found that even organic and “natural” hot dogs contained anywhere from one-half to 10 times the amount of nitrites than conventional hot dogs did, and that natural bacon had between a third and three times the amount of nitrites of conventional bacon. But don’t worry about the nitrates and nitrites found naturally in vegetables-the antioxidants in veggies inhibit them from converting into harmful compounds.

9. Enriched wheat: Whole grains can be part of a healthy diet, providing essential nutrients such as fiber and minerals, but unless that package of bread you’re holding has “100 percent whole-grain” listed as the first (and ideally only) ingredient, it probably only includes a a few whole grains mixed in with enriched wheat flour as the main ingredient.

“The key word to watch out for is ‘enrichment’,” Dr. Gerbstadt says. “The means niacin, thiamine, riboflavin, folic acid, and iron are added after these and other key nutrients are stripped out in the first place during the refining process, whether it’s wheat, rye, or other grains.”

While enriched unbleached wheat flour beats out refined white flour nutritionally speaking, the benefits are minimal since the germ and bran of the are still stripped out during the refining process. Essentially, enriched flour is refined flour that has had a few nutrients re-added to it, but not enough to make it worth the calories. For example, two slices of white bread has about 150 calories and 1.5 grams of fiber, while the same serving of whole-wheat bread provides about 140 calories and 4 grams of fiber, plus more of pretty much every vitamin and mineral found in bread. So go for the grain, the whole grain.

Justin Timberlake’s comeback album, The 20/20 Experience, crushed industry projections, selling a mammoth 968,000 copies in its first week and easily topping the Billboard 200. So if he is not bringing his sexy back, then I don’t know. With this sale, Justin also breaks iTunes record worldwide.

After his first release “Suit and Tie”, his second release called “Mirrors” has already hit over 13 million views on YouTube. It’s a very emotional video and Justin connects his new style with his old style in this great song!

The success of his album also surpassed his label’s expectations. Tom Corson, the president and chief operating officer of RCA Records, which released Timberlake’s album, said the label projected it would sell between 500,000 and 600,000 copies.

Timberlake promoted his album heavily and strategically. He returned to the music scene at the Grammys with a performance of the comeback track “Suit and Tie,” featuring Jay-Z.

He also hosted “Saturday Night Live” on March 2, in an appearance that snagged record ratings for NBC. Timberlake continued his late-night streak with a week-long stint on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” dubbed “Timberweek,” a week prior to the release of his album. On Tuesday, Fallon said Timberlake came up with the idea for a weeklong stay and approached him about it more than a year ago.
