9/11- The Dramatic Day From a Different View- Never Forgotten!

This will be the only post on this blog for today in memory of all the victims and their families! Never forgotten!

Ten years after the dramatic events of the 9/11 the world remembers the victims.

The September 11 attacks were a series of 4 coordinated suicide attacks upon the United States in New York City and the Washington, D.C. areas on September 11, 2001.

On that morning, 19 terrorists from the Islamist militant group al-Qaeda hijacked four passenger jets. The hijackers intentionally crashed two planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City; both towers collapsed within two hours. Hijackers crashed a third plane into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. A fourth jet, United Airlines Flight 93, crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania before it could reach its intended target in Washington, D.C. after the passengers attempted to take control. Nearly 3,000 died in the attacks.

I was not in the States during the time but I remember that day like no other. I was at home with my mom and my brother. My brother always used to watch CNN News to be up to date with basketball and to receive news earlier than they would be shown on german TV. I was in the living room watching the news with him when they showed the first pictures and videos of the planes crashing into the Towers. My brother and me were sitting in front of the TV shocked but definitely not fully aware of what was going on there. We called out for my mom and just her impression on her first was something I wont forget.

We just sat there watching the news, pictures and reports one after another, terrified.

This post goes out to all the families that lost a special somebody. May all the soul’s rest in peace! Never forgotten!
