Original Indian Chai Tea

This post I will have to dedicate to my old family I worked for. In this family I learned to make the Chai from the Indian Grandmother and ever since then I am in love:)

Done in 3 Minutes.

Servings: 1

  • 1,5 teaspoons Indian Chai tea( Red Label tastes best, you can get it at any Indian Store)
  • Half a Cup Milk
  • Half a Cup Water
  • 3 teaspoons sugar (depending on how sweet you like it)
  • grated Ginger

Directions: Boil the water and put the Chai Tea in it.

Then add grated ginger and sugar and let it cook for a little bit and then add milk. Be careful, once you add the milk let it cook for a little bit but it tends to boil over fast. Strain it and voila! Enjoy!

If you are trying to cut out some calories, you may replace the sugar with sweetener:) Also, if you are not a big ginger fan you can use vanilla or cardamom as substitution

Also you can try the Chai Tea iced, really yummy:)
