Rob Scott- Brooklyn’ s Finest

One of my latest favorite aspiring artists is musician Rob Scott. Growing up in Brooklyn, there is no doubt (at all) that his broad and wide-ranging style of music is going places. He has the gift of being very unique in his style of music and due to him not focusing on only one genre of music, his fans base is very diverse and he is able to reach a wide variety of people with it.

Expressing himself through his music and connecting with people through it has always been Rob’s lifelong dream, especially because he has been surrounded by music all throughout his childhood.  Singing was Rob’s first love, but at the age of 14 Scott was introduced to the rap as well. Being inspired by legends such as Tupac Shakur and Michael Jackson, Rob strives to be poetic in his music as well as deliver punch lines you can’t forget.

What makes his music especially innovative to me is that he is not just “another rapper”, like said in one of his songs. The lyrics are topics you can relate to, but they are also very original, so you don’t feel like you have already heard similar lyrics in 1000 other songs before.

Having performed with Will Smith during the 1998 Grammy’s as a dancer, Rob knows what it means to be in the spotlight. He was also the winner of “The Dream Big Hustle Hard Showcase” and has done voice over’s for the Nickelodeon shows “Dora the Explorer” and “Little Bear”, and made appearances on shows such as “As The World Turns” and “Saturday Night Live”.

This young talent is definitely one of the most talented upcoming artist I know of and someone to watch out for because you will, without any doubt, hear more of him.

Personally, one of my favorite songs from him is his version of the song  “If I Die Young” and also “Rigamortis”, but I do have the whole album “to be continued…” on my iPod 🙂
